Freedom Verses is a strategic planning and consultancy firm co-created by two queer, nonbinary people of color with a long history of organizing and community work. Audrey and Povi-Tamu have joint and individual experience in building collective leadership, program development, grassroots organizing, fundraising, strategic planning, youth work, and board development, along with extensive training and facilitation experience for diverse audiences of all ages.
After collaborating on projects and actions across several organizations and job roles, we realized that we really enjoyed working with each other and strategic planned ourselves into co-creating a business. Depending on who you ask, Freedom Verses started in late 2017 or the summer of 2018. Our partnership grew out of our desire to support and develop organizations and leaders that strengthen our communities – and to create more spaciousness and flexibility in our own lives to do the work that feels most meaningful to us. We are committed to supporting social justice and liberation work, with a focus on those who exist and do work at the intersections of multiple axes of marginalization.
